2. KEVLAR
Kevlar is a lightweight, heat-resistant synthetic aramid fiber known for its extraordinary tensile strength—pound-for-pound, it is up to five times stronger than steel. Developed by Stephanie Kwolek at DuPont in 1965, it is widely used in body armor, aerospace engineering, sports equipment, and industrial tires.
Kevlar gets its strength from long, rigid polymer chains that align in parallel and are bound by dense, intermolecular hydrogen bonds. When a projectile (like a bullet) or a sharp object impacts Kevlar fabric, the tightly woven fibers absorb and disperse the impact energy across a wide area, functioning essentially like a heavy-duty
